When You Lose Hope Like a Fractured Jar Unable To Hold Water

Faith Grace Strength

I know what it’s like to feel like a fractured jar, water spilling out, unable to feel full. The positive life flows in and it drips right out leaving you feeling empty.

I know what it’s like to walk around losing hope with each step you take. In many ways you feel like you’ve failed.

Going to the well is no longer something that works.

You come home from church and your ex texts a blistering remark to make you feel like a terrible parent. You finish a mighty worship song on the drive home from work and a colossal sized stone hits your windshield cracking it from door to door – something you cannot afford to replace.

You open your bible and all you can think is, “When will I ever feel full!?”

I’m right there with you, friend.

Let me share with you a story I heard from my Pastor one Sunday morning.

The whole story: The Cracked Pot

You see, friend? God knows our flaws and he knows of what we’re capable. He plants seeds along the way, so our flaws are never in vain.

Even if we feel empty, he keeps filling us up for His purpose. {Tweet This}

I remember when my Pastor told this story. I cried as he read the water carrier’s response to the cracked pot. To have God love me like that? What else can be so good? Nothing.

Right where we are. Right where we stand. God meets us there. Ready to make a field of wildflowers out of our lives, so that we too can adorn the Master’s table. Amen. {Tweet This}

Have a blessed week.
