If you find yourself pegged to the ground with violent words of judgement, know that God fashioned you from nothing. Look toward him, our Maker, our Creator. Character is built when no one is looking. God’s favorite testimony is the one that He seems for Himself as good.
My topic this year is “Finding Hope in Unmet Expectations” because that’s what my book is about as well. On Fridays, I write you a poem. All the other days in October I will write short non-fiction essay or vignette for you. Each day has a different word prompt. I hope you enjoy. Today’s word prompt is WORSHIP.
Here I sit in the middle of another road asking God what he needs me to do. All he whisper is, “Try.”
I loved the diversity of animals used to capture the reader’s attention. The spiritual message wasn’t overwhelming, which I greatly appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this beautiful book to others. I’m elated to add it to my daughter’s bookshelf.
Reconciled to my maker in all things new
on this side of heaven until the roots
expose this tree trunk of a woman
branches adorned with last names
changed when the tongue refused to roll
