#FiveMinuteFriday: Protect

Faith Grace Poetry Writing

I’m joining #FiveMinuteFriday over at Kate Motaung’s place. The five-minute free write word is PROTECT.  Here is what I’ve written with no edits, no corrections, etc. This is five minutes of free flowing natural writing.

Journal in hand, pen released

All is well with my soul and I am still
Beyond reach of what is left inside of me

Trace the words of promise in freckled light
I lean in on what I’ve known thus far

On this side of glory, on this side of forever
Preservation of history and culture – Freedoms

Often only found on fingertips penning insight
With intention and natural vigor

My eyes quiet amidst the clamor of voices
Like a materialized shelter built to sustain me

I’ve come to know in struggle, in the plight
You make it well with my soul

I can be still

Thanks for joining in the five-minute free write today. Would you like to join? If you are a blogger join the #fmfparty on FB and/or link up to Kate Motaung.  Leave a comment on what the word PROTECT means to you.
