#FiveMinuteFriday: Path

Faith Grace Poetry Solitude Strength

I’m joining #FiveMinuteFriday over at Kate Motaung’s place. The word prompt is PATH. Below is five minutes of free flow writing. The forward slashes indicate where the timer started and ended. Go!

The adventure begins when we believe. Are you ready?

CrUBH7hWAAA3jBL//I try to forge a path between my soul and the curvy part of my lips where words form and truth ignites. When I walk along this passage, I find a story of my doubts. The ones that creep through longing to hold me captive. I let them for a time. How they nestle me close when it is cold.

When I reach what seems to be the end of the path, I notice it does not end. It blooms into flowers and ribbons cascading off the brims of my eyes. It shoots outward and upwards like stalks of change toward a heaven where I am declared free – I am not held captive here.//

Past hurts have the tendency to interrupt our lives and the paths we’re on. Yet, when we continue to look up and out we find there is true freedom in letting go.

Whether we feel God near or not, it is up to us to remain faithful in this adventure. It is up to us to believe. Allow the adventure to begin.

Even though I don’t feel you, I believe in you.  -Mother Teresa

Articles I found of interest this week:

  1. Mother Teresa: A saint despite spiritual darkness
  2. Lord, Keep Me Desperate

Has your adventure begun? What does the word PATH mean to you?
