#FiveMinuteFriday: Journey

Faith Strength Writing

I’m joining #FiveMinuteFriday over at Kate Motaung’s place. The word prompt is JOURNEY.  Below is five minutes of free flow writing. The forward slashes (//) indicate where the timer started and ended. Go!

journey-600x600In a few days, I will be celebrating one year of blogging. My one year anniversary at Compel Training was in October. I’ve grown as a writer and as a blogger. Milestones have been few and small, but they have been leaps and bounds for my writing life.

When I reflect on this journey and on 2016, I’m tempted to disregard the colorful marbles of hope offered through words of blessing. I’m tempted to take the hard, crusty parts and place those on a pedestal. I want to point to the negative and say, but… but…

I am blessed even in the mundane.

Where God has left an empty space, he will later fill it to spilling over with his light.

As we step into a tumultuous November, lost friends because of ideals and standards, drawn near to the broken because we’ve recognized our privilege, and where we’ve treated in total faith, here’s to that! Here’s to truly grasping how God is beyond our understanding – forever. Here’s to the the journey.//

There is a lot in store for 2017. I can feel it. Some of it I can never fully grasp. I want to begin November with a new heart and a new gratitude for where life leads us and leaves us.

If you have not yet downloaded my gratitude journal (reflection pages), please do so. It’s completely free to keep and share. There will be more freebies coming in December and the New Year. Stay tuned.

Next blog post (Monday, November 7) is a book review on Life Creative. Hope to see you then!
