#FiveMinuteFriday: Embrace (a poem)

Grace Poetry

//I come to this space
overwrought with remnants of stories
from my lives past,
from deep down dig it out phrases –
shrapnel caught in the ligaments of my new place,
this new place I call grace.

Like when Jesus touches your face
wrinkles of “each time you fell” shed
like dead skin composts into the soil
time tills a village –
each granule made ready for a Genesis

This garden of Eden,
even and eventual.
Breath swallowed for new life
to embrace this grace.//

I’m joining #FiveMinuteFriday at Kate Motaung’s place. The word prompt is EMBRACE.  Above is five minutes of free flow writing. The forward slashes (//) indicate where the timer started and ended. Your turn! Join us at Kate’s place.
