I stood in my office sharing new words with a coworker. Laughing, twisting our faces in confusion, and finally letting out “aha’s,” we exchanged a few words to add to our vocabulary.
We traced around sayings placing our age on display as we giggled and grunted in confusion toward one another.
Like a bee in my bonnet.
Fly by the seat of my pants.
We had an inspiring time to share laughter as we both trembling from the cold. The heating unit is broken in our building. Like a family gathered around campfire sharing ghost stories, we lit the pile of words on fire.
Today, I’m grateful for conversations with those I would not otherwise speak to in passing.
Friend, this is Day 18 of a series of posts for the month of October. I’m joining Kate Motaung over at Five Minute Friday for the yearly Write 31 Days challenge. My topic is “Finding Hope in Unmet Expectations” because that’s what my book is about as well. On Fridays, I will write you a poem. Each day has a different word prompt. I hope you enjoy.
Today’s word prompt is SHARE.
