Here I sit in the middle of another road asking God what he needs me to do. All he whisper is, “Try.”
What happens next? I made so many encouraging connections at the Five Minute Friday retreat. I can’t wait to see how God continues to flourish our friendships. I’m truly blessed by knowing these woman. They are dear to my heart.
My heart couldn’t take neither labor. I could have lost them both – seventeen years ago and eight months ago. Darkness looks the same when your heart stops beating and when you lay curled on the floor wishing life to deal you just one day free of a mangled reality. We are not born of flesh and tissue when the evolution of spirit, kingdom, and breath spark a condition perfectly enough to make life inside of the belly of our soul.
How can I be effective in five minutes? What helps me is to think back on the times I had 2 seconds to prove I was worthy to come back home. Where is home for you?
I put together a list of word prompts to get your cylinders firing for the month of July. Start a bullet journal, grab some index cards, or memorize some simple poetry lines. Whatever your brew of preference, stay faithful to the sip. Rock out your summer and challenge yourself to more than simple interpretation.
If you don’t know what you’re doing then neither does your reader. Joining a writers group just to eat MariaElena’s amazing batch of guacamole does not a writer make. Unless you’re inspired by guac. In which case, carry on.
Forget what it looks like to reach out to someone because of what Twitter or FB says. Forget what it looks like to reach out in a revolutionary way to form a bridge. Forget what it looks like to just be your common self.
It’s #FiveMinuteFriday at Kate Motaung’s place. The word prompt is MORE. I’m not a prose kind of person at 4:00 a.m.
